Opening Day (of Fishing) Weekend

It rained on Friday. Not the light stuff that would allow one to golf, but the heavy stuff that forces one to head for the high ground and look for ark plans on the internet. How many feet in a cubit again? By Saturday, the syrup was bottled and just needed some labels. Hours were spent pulling taps from the trees... ...and collecting buckets. The buckets and spiles were washed and stacked. The stacks of spiles were not as impressive as the stacks of buckets. The bar was opened on Saturday night. Bucket cleaner/gatherers were rewarded/punished with the now dreaded "Oatmeal Cookie". It looked good in the drink book. In reality, not so much. Some snow still lives in the shadows. It'll by gone by next weekend. The lake is open and some piers are in. We saw no fisherman all weekend. I'll get the lake temperature sensor calibrated and back in the water in the next few weeks. Until then, trust me, you don't want to swim without a thick wet suit<br><br><br>-Nemo
