Memorial Day Weekend

May 25th through 28th, 2007

Lake Lucerne
The kickoff to the weekend, Friday, was a bit cool but had a great sunset, golf.
Lake Lucerne
Saturday started sunny. Rain was to come later.
Lake Lucerne
The lake is up an inch from last weekend. It currently stands at 13.5 inches below the nail. With all the rain predicted this week, it could be up several inches by next weekend.
Lake Lucerne
The bar was opened on Saturday and Sunday.
Lake Lucerne
Shot-glasses made of ice were the highlight of dice related drinking games.
Lake Lucerne
Turns out that they are made for holding "Perma Frost Schnaps". If the mornings were any indication, humans were not good "Perma Frost Schnaps" vessels. Won't be doing that again any time soon.
Lake Lucerne
The flowers are all over the northwoods. Lots of these guys.
Lake Lucerne
Plenty of these also, but they are fading fast.
Lake Lucerne
Many trillium are past their prime.
Lake Lucerne
Many of these little blue ones too.
Lake Lucerne
Construction on the north end plods on. The finishing work seems to take the longest.
Lake Lucerne
The storms last Thursday may have slowed the progress last week. With rain possible almost everyday next week, I don't expect much advancement this week.
Lake Lucerne
By Monday, things were looking up. The air and water temperatures were up (upper 70's°F and low 60's°F respectively), and the lake level was rising. Many skiers were also up and lets not forget gas prices ($3.459/gallon in town, up up up).
