Closing Weekend
August 11th through 14th
After the close on the bar Friday, we all enjoyed a classic Lake Lucerne sunset.  The weather all weekend was fantastic.
The nights were a little more "crisp" and punctuated with a few pops of leftover ordnance from the fourth.
And here we seem to have the end of the classic tale of "The Boy Who Annoyed Too Much".  It's hard to evaluate the justice of the situation from just a glance but it is important to note the bystanders rushing to his aid.
Spent much of Saturday doing an "Under the Sea" tour of the lake..
While following the ropes to the bottom, the thermocline was encountered at 30 feet.  45 F is way too cold to stay long.
The rope terminated at the anchors.  I took this picture and then headed up to the warmer surface water.
The view looking up at the sun from 40 feet really shows how clear the lake is.
Below the thermocline there were no fish.  Just above was littered with nice/curious smallmouth bass giving me the (fish) eye.
Meg waited for me on the pontoon boat.
The webcam is back! Sort of.  The live image works fine but the recording area is not functioning.  I'll get it recording Labor day.

We did not want to leave on Sunday.  We ended up prying ourselves away at 8:00 PM.   We really need some rain between now and Labor day to ensure the boats floating off lowered lifts.
