Friday morning and a cool mist hung heavy in the air. Any trace of snow on the lake was almost gone.
The large snowball rolled last week by Meg survived!
Our fort is almost gone!
As is Jeff's.
Dean's fort showed itself as a white patch on the ice.
The hole we drilled last weekend to measure the ice depth has not refroze. It had grown about 75% larger during the week.
We drilled a new hole and measured 24 inches of very good ice.
The ice had melted enough around the "Nail Pier" to pull it free of the damaging ice.
The next measure of the lake level (wrt the nail) will be given after ice-out.
The haze stayed around all day on Friday.
The sap stopped running but the sap formerly collected continued to boil and, shortly after this picture, was syrup.
On Saturday the snowball had fallen over.
The syrup was canned the previous night.
The condition of Knott Lane has been described as "not good".
