Easter Weekend

March 30th through 31st, 2002

Lake Lucerne
xxLt & the Sugarman were boiling sap all weekend.
Lake Lucerne
Inside the shack they have discovered that by covering the boiling sap they can increase the enthalpy of the system and get faster evaporation. Thermodynamic engineering, keeping pancakes moist and sweetened among other things
Lake Lucerne
The sap was hardly running while we were there.
Lake Lucerne
The less said about the condition of the lane the better.
Lake Lucerne
The lake level is up to -9.5 inches below the nail.
Lake Lucerne
The ice depth was checked near the unexplained ruins or Jeff's fort.
Lake Lucerne
The ice drill was almost up the the handle before the hole was finished. 24 inches of very solid ice.
Lake Lucerne
The blades of the ice drill are still very sharp. The ice depth would have been much more of a task to find without it.
Lake Lucerne
The pier rescue operation went well.
Lake Lucerne
Some felt that taking the piers out this Spring would somehow be easier that hauling them out last Fall.
Lake Lucerne
Nemo's attempt to use hand tools to saw the extra pipe section off and use the ice drill to free the legs left him to tired to go on.
Lake Lucerne
That left xxLt with the honor honor of spuding the legs out and doing most of the work.
Lake Lucerne
Another mystery! The wooden tops of the other pier sections somehow detached from their supports and were found a short distance away. xxLt was seen in the area with a chainsaw.

-Nemo claims it wasn't him.
