![]() WRLO broadcasts the "Home Shopping Show" once a week. Basically, it's a delightfully campy production where the host reads a litany of items and you call in and buy stuff (coupons, vouchers, toasters, etc) over the air. |
![]() We had to wait a short time while the nice lady took our money and filled out a 2 for 1 voucher for a local restaurant. We got the item partly because we like to eat there, but mostly because getting an item on the "Home Shopping Show" was on the this Summer's checkbox list. |
![]() The raft of many uses (Rafto!, tanning, tipping, diving) continues to float the waters of the north end of the lake. We added a new use this time up. |
![]() Raft camping! It had rained hard just before the tent was put up. The floor got really damp. The paddle boat we used to get to and from the tent was tethered to a cleat on the raft. It bonked into the pontoons once every 2 or 3 minutes, making for a long night. We won't do this again any time soon. |
![]() Seeing a tent on the raft caused some to do a double take, but we were mostly ignored. |
![]() Others didn't ever look up as long as they had a good pawful of nut. |
![]() Nuts are fine, but there is better dining to be had. Duck's bar was visited. |
![]() The shrimp were tasty, the fries crispy and the Mountain Dew was cold. Plus there was a salad and soup bar. Life is good at table two. |
![]() The Log Cabin has pancakes! Big 'uns. This one had blueberries, too. |
![]() Mrs Nemo joined the "Clean Plate Club". Her certificate of achievement, badge, and decoder ring are in the mail. |
![]() The "Pied Piper" in Rhinelander is a crown jewel north of Hwy 64. |
![]() The steaks are thick and the shrimp can be as big as a baby's arm. |
![]() And then there's the view. One side of the dining room faces a small pond dotted with feeders. Deer, ducks, and other wild life pop in and out of view from drink orders until tipping time. |
![]() There was also skiing. Some were too ascared to dip a toe into the very refreshing water. One day, their names may adorn the tower next to Amy's. |
-Nemo was last seen taking a list of names to Sugarbush Hill. Previous
